A Bungee Jumping UK Story
I decided I wanted to go bungee jumping UK style. I did a bungee jump a few years ago when I was on holiday in Bali, but I had my eyes closed the whole time. I felt I was ready to try the extreme experience again, and maybe keep my eyes open this time!
So for my bungee jumping UK experience, I chose the venue nearest to me, which is Manchester. However, there are many other bungee jumping locations throughout the United Kingdom in regions like the South West of England or the famous bungee jumping UK bridge in Middlesbrough, North Yorkshire (click to see video – wooohooo!). I had to book in advance, which I did easily online. You can only select a date from the dates available, and they are usually on a weekend. If there are no slots available on a given weekend, you simply have to book on a date when there is (or choose a location where your preferred date is free). I could only make it on a specific date, so had to make my booking for a month away. But a few days later, I received an email containing my event pack, with confirmation of the exact location and time of the jump.
At this point the butterflies of excitement started to appear in my stomach!

After waiting a whole month, the day of the jump finally arrived. By this point I was a nervous wreck! Although the jump itself takes seconds to complete, from arrival at the venue, to actually making the jump, it takes around two hours in total, so I made sure I was there well in time. I was told to wear comfortable clothing and suitable shoes.
Once you get there you are greeted by really friendly staff who will answer any questions and try to make you feel at ease. They explain the whole procedure, and what to expect.
Bungee Jumping UK – The Ultimate Thrill!
The bungee jump itself is from a height of 160 feet and is just amazing. I just can’t believe how different my bungee jumping UK experience was in comparison to Bali. I felt safer and much more exhilarated with the feel of the cold air against my face. The beautiful scenery at the top of the jump is fantastic, and the rush you feel when you make the jump is unreal. After that all you see is the ground coming closer and closer towards you – you feel as though your face is going to hit the floor and your insides are going to explode! It is a tremendous feeling. It felt different in Bali – I think I was just numb with terror!
All bungee jumping UK locations are strictly regulated to ensure safety. The staff undergoes strict training, and equipment must meet safety regulations. Everyone who jumps is covered by a special insurance, although you are informed that bungee jumping does carry a certain risk.
After the pure rush and exhilaration I felt on my Manchester jump, I have decided to up the ante a bit, so my next bungee jump UK will be in London next to the Tower Bridge. This jump is practically double the height and I’ve heard people say it is awesome. In fact, I have already booked it!
I would recommend bungee jumping UK style to anyone, whether you have tried it elsewhere or even if it’s your first time. You will experience a unique feeling and a surge of adrenalin you can’t get anywhere else. But be careful, it is addictive
